3 Organizations Making Thanksgiving Happy for Everyone
It is the time of year that many of us stop to give thanks, enjoy time with family, and yes eat a lot
of turkey too. At Sunday Dinner, a real estate company it is never just about buying and selling houses – it is about
making strong connections with our community.
There are many organizations that work extra hard this time of year to make sure that everyone
can enjoy the holidays. If you are looking for a way to give back, volunteer, or share some of
your own blessings, here are some organizations to consider.
How would you like to burn off some extra holiday calories of your own, while helping to provide
meals for those in need? Then a Turkey Trot is a perfect way to get involved. Grand Valley’s

because you know, Michigan.
Mel Trotter Ministries is an organization in Grand Rapids that provides food, housing, job
training, and more for those in need. While they are already full for volunteers to serve the
Thanksgiving dinner, you can still do a bag food drive, make a donation, sponsor a holiday
table, or get involved some other way.
Mel Trotter is unique in that it does not receive any government funding. In fact, 52% of all their
funding comes directly from individuals. Your support matters to this organization, and you will
know that your dollars or time will stay right here in West Michigan.

especially during the holidays. Ronald McDonald house works hard to make that stress a little
less by providing housing for families who have children in the hospital. This means that families
can stay together for the holidays, without big bills for lodging on top of what they are already
There are many ways to get involved in their mission from simply giving a monetary donation, to
volunteering your time. You can volunteer to be a shuttle driver, taking families to and from the
hospital, help out with meals, and more. Whatever your skills and experience, chances are good
that Ronald McDonald House has a good fit for you.
And if you want to do something more personalized than a cash gift, but don’t have the time to
